CHARITY CENTRE GIVEN NEW LEASE OF LIFE THANKS TO LEYLAND
Children at a charity centre in Stourbridge are revelling in their new environment after leading trade paint brand Leyland supplied a whole host of eye-catching colour solutions to bring the centre bursting back into life.
Teaming up with painting and decorating students from Stourbridge College, Leyland wasted little time in providing enough paint to ensure The Orchard Centre, run by national charity KIDS, can continue to provide first-class services and support to disabled children, young people and their families in a colourful setting......
The Orchard Centre provides services including after school activities, youth clubs, Saturday drama and dance clubs, fun and games sessions, sensory sessions, family support including home care support and information services.
Five students gave up their time to complete the internal decoration of the centre in two weeks to a very high standard and the paint and colour combinations were expertly provided by the staff at the Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre in Brierley Hill. A myriad of warm and bright shades in white, yellow and magnolia were selected so the students could refresh the interior to create a welcoming and friendly backdrop to mimic the positive attitude of the centre.
Kim Fellows, a trainer at Stourbridge College, oversaw the project and said: “The students have really enjoyed the experience of working on a ‘real job’ and they have been a credit to the college. It’s very important that we have links in our local community and we are grateful for the continued support of the Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre in Brierley Hill where the manager, Andy Davies, has matched colours for this project as well as supplying materials.”
